SOTE PAMOJA DRC | FCRJ - SOAS University of London

This digital archive is an immersive feminist space dedicated to the lives, leadership, and resistance of women from the Great Lakes region of Africa. Through photographs, testimonies, and documentary storytelling, this exhibition documents women who have lived through decades of armed conflict, displacement, and political violence and who continue, despite enormous obstacles, to rebuild their communities, defend human rights, and shape the future of their region. This archive space moves beyond narratives of suffering. It centers women as first responders, organizers, healers, advocates, and leaders whose work sustains communities every day over the years, often without recognition. This space is implemented by: Sote Pamoja RDC: An organization committed to peace, social justice, good governance, and the fight against corruption in the Great Lakes region. working between rigorous research, political analysis, and community action, Sote Pamoja RDC works to strengthen citizen participation, women's and youth leadership, and local solutions to the challenges of armed conflict, political violence, and human rights violations. Feminist Centre for Racial Justice (FCRJ): A transnational, interdisciplinary, impact-driven research centre based at SOAS University of London. The FCRJ focuses on the majority world as geographies from which to build feminist imaginaries of racial justice. SOAS University of London: A specialist public research university internationally renowned for its expertise in languages, cultures, politics, law, and development studies relating to Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. With a community representing over 130 nationalities, SOAS is known for its interdisciplinary approach and commitment to understanding societies beyond Europe and North America.
